As I have spent so much of my time crocheting (check out my instagram for recent projects), I have had very little time to read a book. A physical book. Paperbacks and hardbacks.

I was given the opportunity to listen to the Harry Potter books (The original 7). I love the books. I enjoyed listening to Stephen Fry narrate them. I now seem to be collecting Audiobooks and I am going through them at a ridiculous rate. I love them.

It was argued that it can’t be classed as proper reading because I am not reading the words myself, however, those same words that are on paper are still weaving their majestic beauty around my brain and letting my imagination flow.

So, since the middle of September, I have listened to:

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkhaban – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – J.K. Rowling – Read by Stephen Fry.
  • The Girl on The Train – Paula Hawkins – Read by Claire Corbett, India Fisher and Louise Brealey.
  • Thinner – Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman – Read by Joe Mantagne.
  • Carrie – Stephen King – Read by Sissy Spacek.

I am now about to start listening to Misery, written by Stephen King and read by Lindsay Crouse.

By listening to the books I am able to take in the story and appreciate the storyline whilst crocheting the blankets, hats and gloves. I listen to the them in the car, which is a lot more calming than the radio. I listen to them everywhere.  I love it. A little gutted I hadn’t found audiobooks sooner!

Much Love
