Sadly, my father passed on July 6th of this year. I have updated this page to add 3 of the 4 Charities he wanted donations to be sent to in lieu of flowers at his funeral. The donation you give will be split between the three Charities.

Pancreatic Cancer UK

The Royal British Legion

I was unable to add Y Bwthyn Newydd (Palliative Care Ward at the Princess of Wales Hospital as they do not have a fundraising page).

In November of 2016, my Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer (T3 Exocrine Adenocarcinoma). I have been toying with the idea for a little while, well now, it’s time to put those idea’s to action.

I will be doing a timed walk (with ParkRun) every two months, with the weight I have lost until that point in a bag on my back. The plan is to continue doing this, with the distance getting further and further and obviously the weight increasing.

I am putting this in place, as a healthy way of dealing with the stresses that go with a diagnosis like this. Finding a constructive way of coping with all the emotions that go with this is important to me.

Pancreatic Cancer UK have been a fantastic support to me, I feel it’s only fair I pay them back.

Pancreatic Cancer is the only Cancer in which the survival rates haven’t changed much in the last 40+ years and is seriously underfunded next to Skin Cancer and Breast Cancer. (https://pancreaticcanceraction.org/about-pancreatic-cancer/stats-facts/prognosis-survival/ )

This is me doing my bit for that funding.
