Me Before You – Jojo Moyes

Published February 13, 2016 by Harri

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1)Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am going to leave this spoiler free.

It’s a book that has made me laugh out loud on the bus home. It has had me angry at certain characters and they way they treat people. I have just finished it in a mess of snot, tears and blotchiness.

It’s a beautifully written book about a subject that I would imagine a lot of people are blissfully ignorant of.

I fell in love with Will and Lou.

Thank you Jojo.

This book had me chuckling, shaking my head and sobbing. Ugly sobbing with snot and everything. This book makes you question how you think about things, your perspective on them and most certainly, your privilege. Who are we to decide what happens to others? We aren’t, but we have a tendency to do so, all in the name of ‘their benefit’.

With the topics that are raised in this book, the way it’s broached too, they make you wonder what you’d do in a similar situation. Would you side with Will? I know I would.

As for Lou’s family, like most people’s I’d imagine, there are time when you wonder how their warped version of love and support can be helpful.

I will be honest, I didn’t like her family. I thought them to be ignorant and very selfish characters. Much like many people I know in real life who believe and act as they do.

When the film comes out in June, I am really looking forward to it. I genuinely am. I am also awaiting payday to buy the sequel.
